Bobby Ray Sexton Jr. passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on January 30, 1956, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Bobby Ray Sr. and Jeannette Marie (Dye) Sexton.
Bobby graduated from U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City and found his calling on the open road as a truck driver, a career that suited his free spirit. He loved nothing more than the wind in his face as he rode his Harley-Davidson, classic rock blasting as loud as it could go. He also had a passion for dirt track sprint car racing, always drawn to the thrill of speed and competition. For the last 30 years, Bobby made his home in Dalhart, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Ray Sr. and Jeannette Marie (Dye) Sexton; his paternal grandparents, Wiley Newton and Ola Sexton; and his maternal grandparents, Everette and Genta Dye.
Bobby is survived by his daughter, Johna Rachelle (Sexton) Hembree and her husband, Ricky, of Rockwall, Texas. He also leaves behind his two cherished grandchildren, Ryan Blake Hembree and Aubrie Taylor Hembree, both of Rockwall, Texas.
Though Bobby, like all of us, had his share of mistakes, he was loved by many who always saw the best in him. Among them was his high school sweetheart, his first love, the mother of his child, and his lifelong friend, Betty Jean (Burns) Sexton. No matter the past, she always showed him grace, kindness, forgiveness, and unconditional love.
Bobby lived life on his own terms, embracing the freedom of the open road and the roar of an engine. May he now find eternal peace on the highways paved with gold.
No services will be held at this time. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
