Wayne Reynolds, 83, of DeLeon, Texas, and formerly of Dalhart, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, and awoke in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born on June 6, 1941, in Aspermont, Texas, to Richard and Ivalina Reynolds.
Wayne graduated from high school and began a lifelong career as a mechanic, working for Phil Like Cadillac and Jim Felty Chevrolet in Dalhart. Over 25 years ago, he relocated to DeLeon, where he continued to share his skills and passion for fixing things. Known for his hardworking nature and willingness to lend a hand, Wayne made a lasting impact on those around him.
He married the love of his life, Nina Mae Gibbs, and the two shared many wonderful years together until her passing in 2018. They were blessed with seven children: Tina and Jerry Davidson, Gary Reynolds, Terry and Angela Reynolds, Gina McLearen, Michael Reynolds and Stephanie Ortiz, Michelle and Gene Bilby, and Trina and Jeremy Dickey, whom he is survived by.
Wayne also leaves behind six beloved siblings: Bill, Clinton Lee, Clifton, Connie Nell, Bonnie Rue, and Margie Joe. His legacy continues through his 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who brought him boundless pride and happiness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Mae Reynolds; his parents, Richard and Ivalina Reynolds; four siblings, Iva Mae, Loretta, Mary Louise, and James Richard; and one grandson, Joseph Damon Reynolds.
As Wayne has now been reunited with his beloved Nina Mae in eternity, his family finds peace in knowing he is at rest with the Lord. His life will be celebrated in Deleon, Texas at a later date. Local arrangements are entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
