Hubert Brown, Jr.

Hubert Brown Jr., 69, of Stratford Texas., passed away on September 10, 2024, surrounded by his children and loved ones.

Hubert was born on April 16, 1955 in Littlefield, Texas to Hubert Brown Sr. and Roberta Allen Brown. He was the baby boy and known to the family as "Baby Brother". He grew up around the Olton area, and the family moved to Dalhart Texas around 1972 and he graduated from Dalhart High School in 1973. After he graduated, he enlisted into the United States Army. He met his "Favorite Girl" in 1974 in Dalhart Texas, who later became his first wife and mother to his children, Grace Casados in 1984. They had 4 children together during their marriage. Later in life he remarried in 2003 and spent many years in Stratford with his second wife and divorced in 2018.

He was a jack of all trades; no job was too big that Hubert could not handle or tried to do all by himself. He enjoyed the little things in life and was a simple man. He enjoyed watching movies, jamming out to music, road trips, and vacations with his children and grandkids. Hubert was an active member of Dalhart Elks Lodge BPOE 2390. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He loved his grandchildren and gave them each unique nicknames to fit their personality. Hubert is preceeded in death by his parents, Hubert Brown Sr. & Roberta (Allen) Brown, Brothers: Herbert Brown, Frankie Brown, and Hobert Brown, Sisters: Infant Joyce Lavern Brown and Infant Ruby Brown, Johnnie Mae (Brown) Gaither, Eva Mae (Brown) Holman, Grandchildren: Zahi Hernandez and La'Vernius Samuel Brown.

Hubert is survived by his Favorite Girl, Grace Casados of Dalhart, Tx., Sisters, Mary Pearl "Dobbie" (Brown) Willson and Linda (Brown) Jowers both of Tulia Tx. Sisters in law: Esther Lee Brown and Ruby Brown both of Dalhart TX. Children, Hubert Brown III of Dalhart Tx, Clarisa Brown of Lubbock Tx, Veronica (Brown) & Husband Justin Lanning of Stratford Tx, and Samuel Brown & partner MariAnn Costanza of Lubbock Tx., 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews, left to cherish his love and memories.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in Dalhart Funeral Home Chapel with Hobert Brown, Jr. "Hobie" officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brown will lay in state from noon until 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
