Randall "Randy" Mathews, a cherished figure in the lives of many, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 64. Born on March 12, 1960, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Randy lived a life marked by his dedication to both his profession and his family.

Randy graduated from Dumas High School in 1978 and furthered his education at Texas State Technical Institute in Amarillo with a degree in laser thermodynamics. Randy was known for being always willing to help, embodying a spirit of generosity that touched everyone who knew him.

Beyond his professional life, Randy enjoyed a variety of personal interests. He was a poker professional and a strong advocate within the community, often sharing his passion for the game with friends and family. Randy took delightful pleasure in family gatherings and was particularly proud of his role as a grandfather. His love for golfing was well known, and he found joy in sponsoring others in times of need. Randy's bond with his beloved dog, Halo, was a source of comfort and companionship, and he found joy playing fetch with his furry friend.

Randy was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, undergoing a profound spiritual awakening as a result of the 12 steps. He took his recovery seriously, striving to carry the message to others and practicing the principles he learned. His favorite saying encapsulated his outlook on life: "Remember in life you don't have to do it; you get to do it. There is a difference between have to and get to."

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Amanda Miller, of Dalhart; son, Machen Mathews, of Canyon Lake; brother, Dr. Raymond Foxworth; sisters, Laqueta West, Nicole Guidry, Brenda Barr, Betsy Mathews, and Judi Wills; stepsisters Ann Westerfield and Nancy Richardson; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his devoted dog, Halo.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Charles "Chuck" Mathews; mother, Vernice Hartman "Rollo"; stepmother, Betty Rose Mathews; grandson, Christian Forehand "Miller"; sister, Charlene Gassler; grandfather, Garrison Rollo; and grandmother, Lillian Rollo Stewart.
